Burnside, or Burnside Gorge, is a neighborhood in Victoria, British Columbia with a small population of approximately 6,000 residents. Geographically, the neighborhood runs from Chinatown in the south, to Mayfair Town Centre in the north. On the eastern side runs Blanshard Street, with the Gorge waterway located on the west, running to Harriet Road and the Saanich boundary. The area is diverse and primarily attracts residents that enjoy access to the water and more green spaces. The Mayfair Town Centre is easily accessible from all parts of the neighborhood and is home to many retail and fashion stores. Apart from shopping, Burnside has a number of attractions ranging from the Cecilia Ravine Sport Court and Bike Skills Park, Point Ellice House Museum, the Gorge Rowing and paddling club, as well as several senior fitness and education programs. Recently, the area has also been bursting with new businesses.
Surrounding Burnside are several neighbourhood including Hillside Quadra, North Park, Harris Green and downtown Victoria. They are simple to travel to via BC Transit. Gorge Road runs through the centre of the neighborhood and makes for easy access to the Gorge Road Hospital.
