Central Park is a small neighbourhood located in the River Ward of Ottawa, with a population of just over 3,000 residents. Geographically, it is bound by Merivale Road to the east, Baseline Road to the south, Clyde Avenue to the west, and the Carling neighbourhood to the north. The area is primarily residential, with recent development taking place in the late 1900s and early 2000s. A large Walmart Supercentre is situated at the south end of the neighbourhood, convenient for both grocery shopping and getting prescriptions filled. Across from the Walmart, residents will find the Merivale Market, home to several grocery stores and a Shoppers Drug Mart.
The city of Ottawa is served by OC Transpo, offering a number of local bus routes that take passengers to and from all major areas of the city, as well as smaller neighbourhoods. Accessible door-to-door transit is available for those in need. Bus route 88 takes passengers to Mooney’s Bay, where they can enjoy walking trails along the scenic Rideau River. The two nearest hospitals to Central Park are the Queensway Carleton Hospital and the Ottawa Hospital Civic Campus, both of which are easily accessible by car or bus.
