Chapel Hill is a neighbourhood located in the east end of Ottawa, within the Orleans Community. The area is primarily residential, and is considered an outer-suburb of Ottawa, with a population of just under 16,000 residents. Geographically, Chapel Hill is situated between St. Joseph Boulevard and Innes Road, west of the curving Orleans Boulevard. The community is very family-oriented, with a number of churches, schools, and recreational facilities in the neighbourhood and surrounding areas. Residents can easily access Chapel Hill’s parklands, including Heritage and Chapel Hill Park. The Place D’Orleans Shopping Centre is also a quick drive away, home to a multitude of stores, restaurants, and services.
The city of Ottawa is served by OC Transpo, offering a number of local bus routes that take passengers to and from all major areas of the city, with accessible door-to-door transit available for those in need. The Orleans Urgent Care Clinic is located at 1220 Place D’Orleans Drive, and is also easily accessible from Chapel Hill by bus. Farther outside the neighbourhood, residents can commute to the Ottawa General Hospital in under 20 minutes.
