City of Brantford — a great place to call home

Brantford is a large city in Ontario, with a population of just under 100,000 residents. Located on the picturesque Grand River, the city is situated right at the heart of Southern Ontario, with direct access to Highway 403. Brantford was formerly known as the “Telephone City”, as resident Alexander Graham Bell invented the device at his father’s homestead, Mellville House, now the Bell Homestead. The city is mostly residential, with 15 neighbourhoods surrounding the downtown core, all varying in terms of housing, educational facilities and community amenities, with the northwestern community as the main industrial area of the city. Downtown Brantford is home to a multitude of dining, shopping and entertainment services, as well as some medical facilities. A number of parklands are also scattered around the city, including the Mohawk Park and several golf courses. Overall, the Brantford is an attractive city for both families, young workers and senior citizens.

The city has an efficient transportation system, with low floor accessible buses taking passengers to and from all areas of the city. The primary hospital in Brantford is the Brantford General Hospital, located at 200 Terrace Hill Street, also easily accessible by bus.
