City of Etobicoke — a great place to call home

Etobicoke is a suburban district, and former city, making up the western part of Toronto, Ontario. The area is quite popular due to its low density compared to other regions in the Greater Toronto Area. Etobicoke is generally divided into three regions: The Lakeshore, Central Etobicoke, and West Etobicoke. The Lakeshore is located along the north shore of Lake Ontario, and comprises of many residential neighbourhoods, as well as a large commercial sector in the southern section of Humber Bay. In comparison, Central Etobicoke is home to some of the region’s low density, older communities, while North Etobicoke is also home to many private neighbourhoods. Each region varies in housing, educational facilities, and community services. Sherway Gardens is the largest retail shopping mall in the area, as well as the Toronto area, and is home to hundred or retail stores, restaurants, and banks.

Etobicoke is served by the GO train, with four stations available in the district, taking passengers to and from all regions of the Greater Toronto Area. Regular bus routes also frequently serve Etobicoke and surrounding neighbourhoods. The Etobicoke General Hospital is located at 101 Humber College Blvd, and is easily accessible by one of several transit systems.
