Forbes — a great place to call home
Forbes is a small neighbourhood located in the east end of Ottawa, in the Rideau-Rockcliffe Ward area. Geographically, it is bound by Montreal Road to the north, Aviation Pathway to the east and McArthur Avenue to the southwest. Forbes is primarily residential; however, the area is in close proximity to a number of commercial attractions. Within walking distance, you can find a large Shoppers Drug Mart located on 541 Montreal Road, convenient for both light grocery shopping and getting prescriptions filled. Nearby the Shoppers Drug Mart is a Farm Boy and Independent Grocery for a wider range of grocery needs, as well as several restaurants. The Saint Laurent Park is also located a short walk away, as well as the Ottawa Public Library.
The city of Ottawa is served by OC Transpo, offering a number of local bus routes that take passengers to and from all major areas of the city, including smaller neighbourhoods. Accessible door-to-door transit is available for those in need. Both the Saint Laurent Shopping Centre and the Montfort Hospital are only short bus rides from Forbes.
