Conveniently located just northeast of the downtown core, Lindenlea is a small neighbourhood in the Rideau-Rockliffe Ward of Ottawa, Ontario. Geographically, it is bound by Maple Lane to the north, Acacia Avenue to the east, Beechwood Avenue to the south, and Springfield Road and Rideau Terrace to the west. The neighbourhood is primarily residential, with a number of single-family homes, as well as a children’s park, tennis courts, a bowling green and a community centre. As one of the smallest neighbourhoods in Ottawa, Lindenlea maintains a tight-knit community with a population of just over 2,000 residents. The area is especially attractive as it remains a quiet suburban-type neighbourhood, yet is in close proximity to the downtown core.
The city of Ottawa is served by OC Transpo, offering a number of local bus routes that take passengers to and from all major areas of the city, with accessible door-to-door transit available for those in need. The Byward Market is only a short bus ride away from the area, and is home to a number of large commercial attractions, as well as smaller boutiques and local restaurants. Between Lindenlea and downtown, residents will find several parklands along the Rideau River. The Ottawa Hospital is located approximately 8 km from the neighbourhood, however several smaller clinics and pharmacies reside nearby as well.
