McCauley — a great place to call home

McCauley is a small, but vibrant neighborhood located in Edmonton, Alberta with a population of just under 6,000 residents. Geographically, it is bound by 11th Avenue and Norwood Boulevard on the north, 101st Street down to 105th Avenue on the west, and is cut diagonally on its southeast border along the LRT tracks that go directly downtown. The community is represented by the McCauley Community League, which runs a Community Centre located at 95 Street and 108 Avenue. McCauley is primarily known for its ethnic diversity, and connects the third largest Chinatown in Canada with Little Italy. The neighborhood is currently undergoing a revitalization plan, maintaining its multicultural beacon.

McCauley is predominantly residential, with some commercial and industrial development. The city is known to be extremely walkable, however several transportation options are available within and outside the neighborhood, including Edmonton’s Light Rail and Transit System. Popular attractions in the area include the Commonwealth Stadium located in the east district, an impressive collection of religious assemblies for a variety of faith groups, and the 101 Street Commercial Corridor. Giovanni Cobato Park is situated in the centre of the neighborhood and often runs festivals and events in the summer.
