Spruce Avenue — a great place to call home

Spruce Avenue is a small, yet vibrant, neighborhood located just north of downtown Edmonton, with a population of just over 2,000 residents. Geographically, it is bounded on the south by 111 Avenue, on the east by 97 Street and on the southwest by Kingsway Avenue. Princess Elizabeth Avenue runs along the northeast boundary to 107 Street, following 118 Avenue on the north to 97 Street. The neighborhood is home to the Kingsway Garden Mall, which contains many retail and fashion stores, as well as a Shoppers Drug Mart, convenient for getting prescriptions filled. The Northern Alberta Institute of Technology campus spans a section of the neighborhood, as well as the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital on 111 Avenue Northwest. 97th and 101st Street are home to some of the neighborhood’s oldest residences, with a residential section rich in mature elm-lined streets, making Spruce Avenue an attractive neighborhood for both retired and working residents.
