Cobourg is a small town in Southern Ontario, located about 95 km east of Toronto. The town’s population is just under 20,000, giving Cobourg a small-town feel and tight-knit community. Downtown Cobourg runs along Division St, and is home to a multitude of shops, restaurants and services to accommodate any need. The town is also popular for its art and cultural attractions, including the Concert Hall, Firehall Theatre, and Art Gallery of Northumerland. Surrounding downtown are a number of residential neighbourhoods and communities, each varying in housing, educational facilities, and community services. Cobourg is home to many well-maintained parks, with Victoria Park and Cobourg Beach running on the shore of Lake Ontario. The Cobourg Waterfront Festival Is held annually in Victoria Park, and is a popular event for the residents of the town.
The transit system in Cobourg is fully accessible and provides bus routes all around the town, however these services end at 7pm each day. The main health centre in the town is the Northumberland Hills Hospital, which provides a multitude of healthcare services, as well as a walk-in clinic, also accessible by bus.
