Whitehaven — a great place to call home
Whitehaven is a small neighbourhood located in Bay Ward, in the west end of Ottawa, Ontario, with a population of just over 2,000 residents. Geographically, it is bounded by Carling Avenue on the north, Highway 417 on the south, Woodroffe Avenue on the east, and both Roseview and Dumaurier Avenue on the west. The area is primarily residential, with the closest commercial area being the Walmart in Copeland Park, located at 1375 Baseline Rd, convenient for both grocery shopping and getting prescriptions filled. Carlingwood Shopping centre is located nearby, and is home to a multitude of retail stores, banks, as well as the Royal Ottawa Health Care Group and Carlingwood Dental Centre. Several parks are also scattered around the Bay Ward area, with Britannia Park and Beach conveniently located by the Ottawa River. The southwest side of the neighbourhood contains a large park with a playground, as well as an elementary and high school.
Nearby neighbourhoods and communities include Glabar Park, Bel-Air Heights, Lincoln Heights, Woodpark and McKellar Heights. Several bus routes run by OC Transpo conveniently take residents to and from the neighborhood and surrounding areas.
