Community Description

Located in Central Toronto, The Meighen Health Centre provides Seniors Supportive Housing and Long Term Care services through the combination of the Meighen Retirement Residence and the Isabel & Arthur Meighen Manor. The Meighen Health Centre is a leader in person-centered care primarily to seniors, and is a model for excellence. We demonstrate Christian values and are a transforming influence in the lives of our residents, families, staff, volunteers and community.

ACCOMMODATIONS

The Meighen Retirement Residence has single rooms and one-bedroom apartments. The apartments have a small kitchen area for preparing light meals, coffee or tea. The rooms are well appointed but residents are welcome to have their own furniture around them.

LIFESTYLE

Since The Salvation Army´s first priority is as a Christian mission, spiritual care is a high priority at our facility. Church services are provided on the premises as well as Bible study, pastoral care and fellowship opportunities.

There have been many changes to the original Retired Officers´ Residence since it opened more than 40 years ago. But its continuing mission to provide high quality care to seniors, motivated by the desire to reach out with God´s love, will remain constant.
