Community Description

Barnswallow Place Care Community is situated in Elmira’s picturesque community just north of Waterloo. Located in the heart of Mennonite country, a horse and buggy can often be seen standing at the hitching post; and an enclosed courtyard offers residents and family members a great opportunity to enjoy the gardens.

Our home name reflects the neighbourhood “Birdland,” where all the streets are named after birds. Opened in November 2000, Barnswallow Place is known for its homey, bright and close-knit atmosphere, where we offers 96 residents a choice of private or shared accommodations, and a wide range of programs. Our “Gentle Care” approach allows residents a flexible breakfast program, and a secure home area includes music therapy, Montessori programs, and a sensory room.
