Chartwell Malaspina Care Residence in beautiful Nanaimo, British Columbia, is a long term care community that provides high-quality care and service in a newly-built, modern environment. Situated on spacious grounds that boast a secure, landscaped courtyard, patios, a greenhouse and views of the Georgia Strait, our home also enjoys close proximity to a number of local amenities, including Southgate Mall, cafés and restaurants, pharmacies and medical clinics, seniors centres and places of worship.

Indoors, our 136-suite residence features a host of welcoming and accessible amenities, including TV lounges, dining rooms, activity spaces, a hair salon and light-filled private accommodations. Our covered entryway and visitor parking also make visiting loved ones easy and convenient. A wide range of therapeutic and recreational opportunities are available to residents on-site—from outdoor activities like a gardening and walking club, to personal interest programs like baking and artistic pursuits, to bus outings, strength and balance classes and religious services. Aside from regular contact with our furriest resident, Frankie the cat, our residents also benefit from regular pet therapy programming.

Suitable for seniors who are in need of complex medical or memory care support, we offer 24-hour nursing care with daily personal assistance in a secure and friendly environment—meaning you can experience the peace of mind you deserve, knowing that your loved one is being well cared for.

Admission to our subsidized suites are coordinated by Island Health; however, private pay suites may also available.
