Chartwell Colonel Belcher Retirement Residence is nestled alongside the Bow River in the beautiful Parkdale neighbourhood of northwest Calgary. Our home offers independent living in Calgary for active seniors seeking to belong to a retirement community of peers. We are known for our high-energy and social population of residents, all of whom add to an atmosphere we’ve heard described as “alive and involved.” Our residents can choose from bright studio and one- and two-bedroom suites, all equipped with partial or full kitchens. Besides weekly housekeeping, outdoor parking, shuttle service and the availability of a guest room for visiting friends or family, they can also take advantage of wellness options like a hearing clinic, medication administration and a visiting physician and dentist. Home-care services through Alberta Health Services (AHS) are also available.

One of many of the unique features of our seniors’ residence is our flexible dining options. Although many residents enjoy preparing their own meals, they also join us for dinner once a day in our lovely, high-ceilinged dining room or for drinks in our pub, and can take advantage of an extensive and delicious à la carte menu. With a variety of engaging activities on offer, our residents particularly enjoy daily happy hour, exercise classes, bridge, billiards, and a garden and book club. In addition to organized excursions on our private bus, we also arrange for stops at grocery stores, malls and medical offices to help residents maintain their independence.
