Community Description

The American poet Carl Sandburg wrote “Unless first a dream nothing happens.” Nearly 40 years ago we, at The Briton House, had a dream to create a place of retirement in a great residential area with a multiplicity of choices. The freedom to be you! In the process of achieving this dream, some of the finest people in Toronto became our wonderful guests. Indeed, we were forerunners in desiring to be “what the guest wants”.

We’re excited about this grand historic accomplishment in giving North Toronto unparalleled retirement living. The Briton House provides nourishment for the whole person. We offer entertainment and cultural events, a year-round garden for your enjoyment, professionally guided exercise program for groups and individuals, nutritious meals, great and varied accommodation and a quite room/chapel for inspirational services and meditation.

Our pride and enthusiasm is exceedingly real but in the final analysis it’s your approval that is important and we will always do our best to achieve that.

ACCOMMODATIONS

The Sandringham Suite is the ultimate in retirement living, providing a versatility rarely obtainable in accommodation of this nature. These suites are especially designed for those who require more than the ordinary amount of space and convenience. Each suite features a large sitting room, two comfortable bedrooms, a spacious breakfast nook, a large closet and a balcony. These unique, luxurious suites include a fireplace.

The Balmoral Suite is for one or two people and provides a comfortable bedroom, a living room, a balcony and closet space.

The Ascot Suite is located in an attractively designed building adjacent to the main complex and attached by an enclosed walkway leading directly to the Garden Court, Atrium, dining room and all other services. These suites are ideal for those desiring the ultimate in privacy yet with maximum service. Each unit has a bed-sitting room, a private bathroom and ample closet space. The Cambridge Suite provides spacious living accommodation. The living room and the bedroom look out over a large balcony and this suite features an ample walk-in closet.

The Kent Suite provides ample accommodation for those desiring to bring more of their treasured possessions with them. It features an extra-large bed-sitting room with a large balcony.

DINING

We offer a wide variety of nutritious and delicious meals in the beautiful and spacious Dining Room. Our dining area is attached to our English Garden, allowing you to enjoy the beauty of the garden while dining. The menu is carefully planned by the Food Services Manager, and is subject to consultation with a Dietitian. Specialty coffee, tea, hot chocolate and cold beverages are always available to residents and their guests.
