La Petite Patrie is a neighbourhood in Montreal, Quebec. It is bounded to the north by Jean Talon street, The west is Hutchison street, Papineau street is to the east, and the Pacific Railway to the south. It takes its name after the novel ' La Patrie' in 1972 and was converted to a television series.
La petite Patrie was a primary agriculture industry with Lime quarries as well. Pere Marquette Park is located in the old lime quarries. in 1892 there was a rail that linked Sault au Recolte it led to the urbanization of petit-Patrie. It is currently undergoing a Gentrification phase. There are two schools in the neighbourhood; Ecole secondaire Pere Marquette and Ecole Saint Ambrose. The bus and the Montreal Metro service the area.
St Hubert and Saint Andre are the business districts, There is little Italy in the borders of the La petit-Patrie. There is a strong Latin American, Vietnamese communities. a third of the population is living below the poverty line. 44% of the residents are single family and has an unemployment rate of 10%
