Old Ottawa South — a great place to call home

Old Ottawa South Ottawa Old Ottawa South is a small neighbourhood located in the Capital Ward of Ottawa, Ontario. Geographically, it is situated between the Rideau Canal to the north and the Rideau River to the south. It is bound by Avenue Road to the east and Bronson Avenue to the west. Old Ottawa South is considered an older urban neighbourhood, with a fine mix of residential and commercial attractions. The neighbourhood is home to Carleton University, and thus is primarily attractive for both professors and students. Along Bank Street, residents can find a number of businesses and entertainment venues, including pubs, the Mayfair Theatre and the Ottawa Foklore Centre. A large Shoppers Drug Mart can be found at 1080 Bank St, convenient for both grocery shopping and getting prescriptions filled.

The city of Ottawa is served by OC Transpo, comprising of a number of local bus routes that take passengers to and from all major areas of the city. Accessible door-to-door transit is available for those in need. The OC Transpo runs frequently down Bank Street via bus routes 1 and 7. The Riverside Hospital is located just east of Old Ottawa South, and can be accessed via bus route 6 in approximately 20 minutes.
