On October 29th, 1989, Gary and Geneviève Morris officially opened Résidence Simon. To this date, it has been considered as one of the most attractive retirement Homes in Eastern Ontario.
Albert and Dixie Bourdeau purchased Résidence Simon on July 7th, 2005 with the intention of maintaining and further elevating its high standards of excellence, and they remain determined to preserve its good reputation.
Soon after the purchase, the staff were trained to work as a Team for our Residents and to build a “one big family” environment. All members of The Team were encouraged to enrol into updating courses and seminars, including qualifying for CPR and First Aid. Major renovations were undertaken in 2008 to upgrade RÉSIDENCE SIMON to facilitate the rendering of the upgraded services. Two rooms were added in 2009, to replace the Smoke room. The inside courtyard was partly re-landscaped in 2010 to increase the outdoors’ access for the Residents’ enjoyment and to include a garden and pond.
